Drawing on their own age-gap relationship, “The Bachelor” alum Nick Viall and his wife, Natalie Joy, hosts of “The Viall Files,” teamed up to cohost Netflix’s newest social-experiment dating series, “Age of Attraction.” The show aims to determine if a true connection can transcend generational differences by challenging singles to date without knowing each other’s actual ages.
Season 1 debuted on March 11, 2026, dropping eight episodes in multiple installments over the course of the month, and just days after its finale, Netflix announced it had been renewed for Season 2. Filmed against the scenic backdrops of Whistler and Vancouver, British Columbia, the series follows daters ages 22 to 60 as they attempt to defy societal norms.

Labeled as a dating experiment, Netflix’s “Age of Attraction” aims to go beyond the “love is blind” trope and determine if it’s ageless, too. Sam Dean (“Love Is Blind”) and David Friedman (“Temptation Island”) serve as showrunners on the reality dating show. Though contestants are 22 to 60 years old, their ages remain under wraps, emphasizing relationship building without the stigma that often comes with age-gap dating. Contestants keep each other guessing, but the more interesting thread is the bonds that form between daters who might have otherwise written each other off because of their age. After meeting in a retreat-like setting, the couples formed must then go into the real world, meeting each other’s friends and family to determine if they can weather the storm of societal expectations and commit to each other long-term.
Viall and Joy hosted Season 1, and the married duo plans to return for Season 2. The couple began dating in 2020 and wed in 2024. Now, as a family of five—Viall and Joy have three daughters—their 18-year age gap serves as living proof that Netflix’s experimental series might not be all that far-fetched.

Pitman Casting—which includes CDs Russell Berman, Jerry Artukovich, and Jacqui Pitman—established the Season 1 ensemble for “Age of Attraction.” The reality TV CDs have also cast other dating competition shows, including ABC’s “The Golden Bachelor” and Bravo’s “Blind Date.” Check out our guide on how to get cast on reality TV so you’ll know precisely how to secure your spot on “Age of Attraction” Season 2.

Potential contestants must begin the process by filling out the “Age of Attraction” application. Along with general contact information (name, phone number, email address), you’ll need to detail your appearance (height, weight, hair color, and eye color). You’ll also be asked to provide your social media handles.
Applicants must also answer an array of questions that offer the casting team greater insight into who they are. These take a deeper look at your personal preferences, relationship history, and what you hope to gain from this experience. Here’s just a sampling of the questions you’ll encounter:
- What is your greatest accomplishment? Why?
- In a group setting, what role do you usually take?
- How do you handle conflict?
- What is something we would be surprised to discover about you?
- How long ago was your last relationship? Why did it end?
- Are you looking for a long-term partner or just fun for right now?
- Would you date someone with children? Please explain.
- We all have baggage that we carry into a relationship. What is yours?
- How old do you feel? Do you feel like you act your age?
- How do you think age affects physical attraction, chemistry, and sex in a relationship?
Once you’ve completed that portion, you’ll also be asked to provide two photos: an upper-body close-up and a full-length body shot. You can upload up to three additional photos for casting consideration if you wish. If you’re chosen to move to the next stage after submitting your application, you’ll undergo numerous video interviews, as well as background checks and psychological evaluations to ensure you’re prepared for the challenge ahead.
As Season 1 contestant Vanessa Drozda shared on Instagram, the process was quite involved. “It included multiple interviews, video calls, personality tests, psychological tests [and] background checks before you ultimately receive the confirmation of your casting,” she said. So, buckle up—it could be a long ride.

As the casting notice highlights, filming will take place between Oct. 3 and Nov. 6, 2026, although dates are subject to change. Participants must be available to film for that entire period.

With only one season under its belt so far, the show’s former contestants have yet to divulge too many secrets for getting cast (other than Drozda’s post).
