“The Gilded Age”
“The Gilded Age” is upon us! The upcoming HBO period drama series, developed by “Downton Abbey” creator Julian Fellowes is in high gear filming in New York State and New York City. Filming of the series initially began in February in Rhode Island at the mansions Chateau-sur-Mer, The Elms, and The Breakers. Now, production has shifted home to New York, where it has been filming at the Lyndhurst Mansion in Tarrytown, as well as around the city, including on Fifth Avenue in the lower 70s and in Central Park at Bethesda Terrace, as relayed on Twitter on April 8. The series will be set during the Gilded Age, the boom years of 1880s NYC, and features an all-star lead cast that includes Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon, Carrie Coon, Morgan Spector, Denée Benton, Louisa Jacobson, Taissa Farmiga, Blake Ritson, Simon Jones, and more, as well as recurring and guest stars such as Patrick Page, Nathan Lane, Audra McDonald, Kelli O’Hara, Donna Murphy, Michael Cerveris, Debra Monk, and other major stage and screen stars. There has not been a premiere date set for the new series, but it is due out at some point in 2021. Adam Caldwell and Bernard Telsey of Telsey + Company’s main New York office are the series’ casting directors. The series has been regularly putting out calls for background actors, so be sure to keep an eye out on casting notices for your chance to be featured on the show!
