Based on the novel by Liz Moore, Peacock’s “Long Bright River” stars Emmy winner Amanda Seyfried in a role unlike any other from her expansive career. The crime thriller premieres via the streamer on March 13, with all eight binge-worthy episodes dropping at once. Showrunner Nikki Toscano (“The Offer”), who also serves as executive producer, director, and writer, told NBC she was drawn to Moore’s story, in part, as a way to “deconstruct the ‘police as savior’ narrative” while also upending stereotypes attached to sex work, poverty, and addiction.

When Kacey goes missing on the cusp of a murder spree within the district, Mickey becomes consumed with finding the killer—and her sister—before her family becomes part of this tragic case.
