Netflix’s mystery miniseries “His & Hers” drops Jan. 8, 2026. Based on the 2020 Alice Feeney novel of the same name, co-showrunners William Oldroyd (“Lady Macbeth”) and Dee Johnson (“Fellow Travelers”) adapted the story into a six-episode crime thriller, starring Tessa Thompson as journalist Anna Andrews and Jon Bernthal as Detective Jack Harper—two investigators who can’t help but clash. Pablo Schreiber (“Halo”), Crystal Fox (“The Haves and the Have Nots”), Sunita Mani (“Death of a Unicorn”), and Rebecca Rittenhouse (“Maggie”) round out the primary cast. Academy Award winner Jessica Chastain served as one of the series’ executive producers in association with her company, Freckle Films.

What is “His & Hers” about?

“His & Hers” follows Anna (Thompson), a recluse who has all but given up her career as a news anchor. Despite having distanced herself from her friends, Anna comes out of hiding when she learns of a murder in her otherwise sleepy Georgia hometown. However, Anna’s involvement attracts the suspicions of the lead detective, Jack (Bernthal). Of course, the suspicions are mutual, as Anna can’t come to trust Harper herself (not to mention the two share a complicated relationship). But as the show’s tagline notes, there are two sides to every story, which means someone’s always lying. Atlanta’s heat might be oppressive, but it can’t compete with the heat of this investigation.

Who is the casting director for “His & Hers”?

Kimberly Wistedt (“Outer Banks,” “The Hunting Wives”) was in charge of local casting on “His & Hers,” while Heather Hylton Bivens (“The Game,” “Survivor’s Remorse”) cast the series’ extras. Dann Fink (“The Gilded Age,” “The Diplomat”) was responsible for the show’s voice casting needs.
