Peacock is venturing into high-stakes, high-tech espionage with its gripping, new eight-episode thriller “The Copenhagen Test,” premiering Dec. 27.
The series stars Marvel favorite Simu Liu as an intelligence analyst whose mind is compromised by a hack, granting the perpetrators access to every sight and sound he experiences. This invasion turns his own perception into the enemy’s greatest weapon.
Peacock offered audiences a first look and exclusive teaser at New York Comic Con in October. As anticipation builds, here is everything we know about the new sci-fi thriller, including the key cast members bringing the tension to the screen and who helped cast them.

According to the official synopsis, the espionage thriller series follows first-generation Chinese American intelligence analyst Alexander Hale (Liu). After his brain is hacked, the perpetrators access everything he sees and hears. Michelle (Melissa Barrera) is either Alexander’s romantic partner or someone hired by his agency to pose as one. Trapped between his shadowy agency and the unknown hackers, he must maintain a consistent performance to flush out the culprits and prove his loyalty.
“The Copenhagen Test” is directed by Nima Nourizadeh (“The Gentlemen”), Kevin Tancharoen (“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”), and Jet Wilkinson (“Bosch: Legacy”). Creator Thomas Brandon (“Legacies”) is co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer with Jennifer Yale (“See,” “Outlander”). Horror impresario James Wan (“The Conjuring” universe, “Insidious,” “M3GAN”) executive produces with Michael Clear (“Archive 81”) and Rob Hackett (“I Know What You Did Last Summer”) for Atomic Monster. Additional executive producers include Mark Winemaker (“Defiance”), Wilkinson, and Liu.
