The series, which is being described as a faithful adaptation of Austen’s novel, is directed by Euros Lyn (“Heartstopper”) and written by Dolly Alderton (“Everything I Know About Love”).

“Pride and Prejudice” is based on Austen’s famous 1813 novel, set in Regency-era England. The story follows protagonist Elizabeth Bennet (Corrin), one of five Bennet daughters who must secure an advantageous marriage for financial security before their family estate is inherited by a distant male heir. Unwilling to compromise her values for money or settle for anything less than true love, Elizabeth defies convention by rejecting suitors who don’t meet her emotional standards. Her independence is put to the test when she’s introduced to Mr. Darcy (Lowden), a wealthy estate owner who’s intrigued by Elizabeth but judges her family’s lack of social connections. As their feelings for each other grow, Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy are forced to put aside their prejudices about each other and confront their undeniable attraction.
