Inspired by the 1989 cult classic, Peacock’s “The ’Burbs” puts a new spin on the Tom Hanks and Carrie Fisher film. Starring Keke Palmer (as Samira Fisher) and Jack Whitehall (as Rob Fisher), this series reboot draws on Joe Dante’s dark comedy about the drudgery of American suburban life. Julia Duffy (as Lynn), Paula Pell (as Dana), Mark Proksch (as Tod), and Kapil Talwalkar (as Naveen) costar. Celeste Hughey, the producer on hits like “Palm Royale” and “Dead to Me,” created this reimagining, while Seth MacFarlane, Brian Grazer, and the original film’s writer, Dana Olsen, served as executive producers. All eight episodes will drop when Season 1 of “The ’Burbs” premieres via the streamer on Feb. 8.
