HBO describes the half-hour comedy as the story of William Ronald Trosper (Robinson), who uncovers a far-reaching conspiracy after an embarrassing workplace incident.
In addition to Robinson and Kanin, Adam McKay (“Don’t Look Up”) and Todd Schulman (“Jury Duty”) are executive producers under their HyperObject Industries banner. Igor Srubshchik (“Masters of None”) and Andrew DeYoung (“Friendship”) also serve as executive producers, with DeYoung directing the pilot.
The cast includes:
- Lake Bell as Barb Trosper
- Sophia Lillis as Natalie Trosper
- Will Price as Seth Trosper
- Joseph Tudisco as Mike Santini
Lou Diamond Phillips also guest stars on the pilot as Jeff Levjman.
In HBO’s press release, Amy Gravitt, executive vice president of HBO and Max comedy programming, said, “With an imprint only Tim and Zach can have on a character, William Ronald Trosper follows in the strong tradition of HBO comedy leads. I couldn’t be happier to announce the pickup of this wildly enjoyable show.”
