Based on Michael Connelly’s series of novels, each season of Netflix’s “The Lincoln Lawyer” draws inspiration from one of them. “The Brass Verdict,” “The Fifth Witness,” and “The Gods of Guilt” inspired Seasons 1–3, respectively. And now, with Season 4 heading to the streamer on Feb. 5, fans will get to see “The Law of Innocence” play out onscreen. Created by David E. Kelley and developed by Ted Humphrey, the show stars Mexican actor Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as the titular “Lincoln Lawyer” Mickey Haller, along with Neve Campbell (as Maggie McPherson), Becki Newton (as Lorna Crane), Angus Sampson (as Cisco Wojciechowski), and Yaya DaCosta (Andrea Freeman).

Mickey Haller (Garcia-Rulfo), a Los Angeles defense attorney, works from the back of his Lincoln Navigator, hence his nickname. With the help of his ex-wives—Maggie McPherson (Campbell), a criminal prosecutor, and Lorna Crane (Newton), his legal aide—Mickey rides around L.A., defending those who seek his counsel. At the start of the series, Mickey inherits criminal defense attorney Jerry Vincent’s practices after he’s shot dead in a parking garage and his briefcase is stolen. Yet, while Mickey remains one of the most dedicated attorneys in the city, tackling a number of tricky cases throughout the series, Season 4 promises to be his most challenging yet as he’s now the client. Can Mickey come out the other side of this ordeal unscathed, or will his reputation be forever damaged?
