It’s never too early to kick start your acting career! We’ve rounded up some auditions on Backstage specifically tailored to our younger demographic including a commercial for an app that improves child-parent relationships and a short film about a Latino family coping with death.

“Polaroid”
This short student film is seeking young actors aged 7, 10, and 15 out of Huntington, Ind. for a film about a Latino family and the Polaroid snapped of a young girl just before she suffers a traumatic experience. A small stipend, meals, copy, travel, and lodging will be provided. Auditions are Feb. 20 in Chicago.

Parent-Child Bonding App Kickstarter Video
A child between the ages of 4 and 8 is needed to play a son or daughter for a commercial casting out of San Francisco about an app that teaches child safety. This gig pays a negotiable $100/day commensurate with travel distance. There are no lines but there will be voiceover, and producers will provide actors with iPads and iPhones loaded with the advertised app.

“Into the Night”
The Red Door Theatre Company out of Pasadena, Texas is seeking John and Jane (both 10–17), and three other roles for children aged 8 to 17 to tell the story of three women. This is an unpaid position. Auditions are Feb. 21 with a March 6–8 runtime.

“Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”
Based out of Magna, Utah, the Empress Theatre is casting the entire musical production based on the beloved film about a quirky man and two children who restore a flying car. Auditions are Feb. 24 and 26.

“The Christmas Tree”
Inspired by “It’s a Wonderful Life,” this trip down memory lane follows Bob, an insurance executive who’s unhappy with his life on Christmas and goes back in time to gain insight on the present. Producers are seeking a Young Bob aged 13–18. Auditions are Feb. 22 in Hollywood, Calif. with an early March shooting schedule.

“Chicago PD”
The NBC show is casting a young African-American male between the ages of 8 and 15 to play a drug dealer’s spotter. The actor must have his own bike; BMX style a plus. The role shoots through March 3 in Chicago.

“The Ridiculous 6”
Adam Sandler Taylor Lautner, Rob Schneider, Luke Wilson, and Terry Crews star in this Netflix original movie shooting in late April in Santa Fe. Producers are seeking actors from the ages of 1 and above out of Santa Fe or Albuquerque to play Native Americans in the story about a man (Sandler) who grew up an orphan in their tribe.
