The audition process?
“I am wondering what casting directors’ opinions are of an actor auditioning with sides in hand versus without. I have received sides last minute with no way of memorizing my lines for the audition. Unfortunately, I use readers (glasses for reading only), so I feel it makes me look different from what they are looking for. I tried without my readers and ended up flubbing up the lines. Any advice?” —cms

Normal time without an audition?
“Just want to gauge other people’s timelines: How long do you typically go until you get your next audition through your agent (assuming you have great headshots, a demo reel, slate shots, etc.)? I know it depends on the time of year, but how long do you personally go before your next audition? Four weeks? One week? Three months? Thanks y’all.” —BuffetDestroyer

What to do, what to do, what to do?
“I know this business will be filled with ebbs and flows of working and not working. It’s just I want to do more but don’t know exactly what. I am currently writing some ideas and stories for some short films I hopefully want to write, direct, and lead, because I know taking things into your own hands is the common advice nowadays. I just want to gauge what my fellow actors do to stay creatively, personally, spiritually, and mentally invigorated when they aren’t working. Thanks everyone!” —BuffetDestroyer
