You already know Backstage is the go-to for any and all information pertaining to your craft. But now, you have the chance to get in on the action with the Backstage Community Forum. Here, you can engage with others in your industry, as well as teachers, experts, and, yep, even agents and casting directors. Below are some of this week’s most interesting new topics; drop a reply or post a new thread. Either way, fire up that keyboard and get involved right here!

Where can I find a current agent list?
Looking to start reaching out to agencies—again—about getting representation. Is there a current Ross Report with a list of agencies? Specifically looking for musical theater/New York but am open to TV/commercial and Los Angeles. Thanks in advance for your help!” —IJustWantToBeSeen

Question about sides:
Until I signed up with Backstage, sides were something you ordered along with dinner at a restaurant. Sides for voiceover auditions are pretty straightforward; they’re just monologues. But sides for theatrical auditions are typically script excerpts that have two or three characters. Do they just want me to read the character that I’m auditioning for, or do they want an off-camera voice to do the other parts? Or what?” —DigitalWiz

Writing and acting group?
Hi everyone, I’m starting a weekly writing and acting group in Manhattan! We’ll meet every Thursday at 7 p.m. Writers will bring in scripts, and we’ll read them out loud and give the writer feedback. No experience required—it’s just for fun! This week, we’ll be reading a really cool play and need at least one more person to have enough actors. Attendance is free! Please email me for the exact address (it’s an office building).” —WritersAndActors
