Rock on! Production for “Camp Rock 3” is officially underway. The Jonas Brothers will reprise their iconic roles as Connect 3 bandmates while also executive producing the movie. Disney confirmed the third installment of the musical franchise with a sneak peek of Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas on set in Vancouver, where “Camp Rock 3” is currently filming. Although Demi Lovato isn’t expected to return as Mitchie Torres, she’s joining behind the scenes as an executive producer—and fans are still hoping for a surprise cameo. Directed by Veronica Rodriguez (“The Slumber Party”) and written by Eydie Faye (“Fuller House”), “Camp Rock 3” comes 17 years after the original 2008 film and 15 years after “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam.” Before the curtain rises, catch up on what we know about “Camp Rock 3,” including the fresh faces joining the cast.

According to the Disney+ press release, the story begins when Connect 3—the fictional band played by the Jonas Brothers—loses its opening act just before launching a major reunion tour. In search of a new opener, the guys return to Camp Rock, where their band first formed, to find the next big star. The film will introduce a new group of campers vying for the chance to perform with the famous band.
The “Camp Rock” franchise is set at a fictional summer music camp for teens and young adults chasing dreams of stardom. In the first film, Mitchie Torres (Lovato) is a shy but talented singer who attends Camp Rock when her mother gets a job as the camp’s caterer. While trying to fit in with her peers, Mitchie finds that jealous campers want to upstage her natural talent. “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” follows the rivalry between Camp Rock and the neighboring Camp Star, culminating in a televised talent competition where the losing camp is at risk of permanent closure. After Camp Star rigs the votes and wins the contest, several of its members decide to transfer to Camp Rock instead, ultimately saving Camp Rock from shutting down.
Returning cast members include:
- Joe Jonas as Shane Gray
- Nick Jonas as Nate Gray
- Kevin Jonas as Jason Gray
- Maria Canals-Barrera as Connie Torres
New cast members joining “Camp Rock 3” are Liamani Segura (“Descendants: Wicked Wonderland”) as Sage, Malachi Barton (“Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires”) as Fletch, Lumi Pollack (“Electric Bloom”) as Rosie, Casey Trotter (“The Thundermans: Undercover”) as Cliff, Hudson Stone as Desi, Brooklynn Pitts as Callie, Ava Jean as Madison, and Sherry Cola as Lark.
Danielle Aufiero (“The 100,” “13 Reasons Why”) is the casting director. Tim Federle (“High School Musical: The Musical: The Series”) executive produces, along with the Jonas Brothers, Lovato, Betsy Sullenger, Spencer Berman, and Gary Marsh. Choreography is by Jamal Sims, whose credits include the “Step Up” franchise and Disney’s live-action “Aladdin,” among numerous stage shows, music videos, and commercials.
Disney Branded Television is producing exclusively for Disney Channel and Disney+. Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, called the project a “full-circle moment,” saying, “‘Camp Rock’ is an important part of the Disney Channel Original Movie legacy, with unforgettable music, energetic storytelling, and characters that live in the hearts of fans to this day.”
