Many of the details about Netflix’s “Black Rabbit” have been kept a secret, but based on its cast and synopsis alone, we’re already seated in anticipation for this upcoming limited series. Jude Law (“The Holiday,” “The Young Pope”) and Jason Bateman (“Ozark,” “Arrested Development”) star alongside Abbey Lee (“Mad Max: Fury Road”), Sope Dirisu (“Slow Horses”), and Dagmara Dominczyk (“Succession”) on the eight-episode thriller.

“Black Rabbit” is expected to be released sometime in 2025—and while it was written as a limited series, there’s always the potential for it to get picked up for a second season. What is “Black Rabbit” about?

Successful NYC entrepreneur and nightlife hotspot owner Jake Friedken (Law) is faced with a series of dangers after reconciling with his troubled brother, Vince (Bateman). According to Tudum by Netflix, the cast includes a lineup of potentially menacing characters, like bookies and hotheaded criminals, alluding to the Friedken brothers’ dark past and entanglements coming back to haunt them.

Who is the casting director for “Black Rabbit”?

Casting director Alexa L. Fogel (“Ozark,” “Pose”) partnered with extras CD Peter Marinaro (“The Blacklist,” “American Horror Stories”) for the project, which was filmed in New York City. 

Zach BaylinAcademy Award–nominated screenwriter Zach Baylin (“King Richard,” “Gran Turismo”) and producer Kate Susman are listed as showrunners; they’re also co–executive producing and co-writing the series based on an original concept. Laura Linney, another “Ozark” alum, joined the show’s list of directors with Justin Kurzel (“Assassin’s Creed”), Ben Semanoff (“Yellowjackets”), and Bateman, each of whom directed two episodes of the series. Law, Baylin, Kurzel, and Susman also collaborated with one another on 2024’s crime thriller “The Order.”
