Seven years after “Black Panther” first premiered in theaters, fans are finally getting a spinoff. Marvel’s “Eyes of Wakanda,” a four-part animated series, debuts on Disney+ on August 27. The miniseries is directed by Todd Harris, whose previous work includes storyboarding for notable MCU projects, including “Black Panther,” “Avengers: Endgame,” and “Black Widow.” The confirmed voice actors for the new MCU series include Gary Anthony Williams (“Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows”), Anika Noni Rose (“The Princess and the Frog”), and model Winnie Harlow (“America’s Next Top Model”).

“Eyes of Wakanda” delves into the history of Wakanda and its warriors, known as the “Hatut Zeraze,” or “Dogs of War,” across various eras. The warriors must travel the world in order to safely retrieve stolen Vibranium (a powerful, strong metal originating from Wakanda) from the fictional nation’s enemies. Each episode of the miniseries will take place during a different time period—starting in Ancient Crete—but will follow the continuous storyline of protecting Wakanda. While “Eyes of Wakanda” won’t focus on one specific character, insiders have hinted at crossovers with other MCU timelines and cameo appearances by familiar Marvel characters, such as Iron Fist, per Variety.
The main voice actors for the four-part series are:
- Winnie Harlow
- Cress Williams
- Anika Noni Rose
- Lynn Whitfield
- Patricia Belcher
- Larry Herron
- Adam Gold
- Jacques Colimon
- Jona Xiao
- Isaac Robinson-Smith
- Gary Anthony Williams
- Zeke Alton
- Steve Toussaint
Additional actors include Danai Gurira, Walles Hamonde, Aidan Bristow, and Gabriel Burrafato.

Marvel alum Sarah Finn (“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” “Captain America: Brave New World”) is the show’s CD. She spoke with Backstage about how to get cast in MCU projects, saying that unknown actors can have a better chance than they might expect. But since Marvel projects are notoriously secretive and don’t often announce public casting calls, the best way to get in the door is by working with a professional acting agent who can help connect you with the right people.

At this time, “Eyes of Wakanda” is billed as a miniseries, so there isn’t a plan for additional episodes. However, with the rise of limited series getting greenlit for more than one season, we could potentially see more storylines. We’ll make sure to share the news right here if the series gets a new season. In the meantime, for more voice acting opportunities and other gigs, check out these jobs that are hiring right now:
