Netflix is ringing in the New Year with its latest thriller “Run Away,” premiering Jan. 1. Adapted from Harlan Coben’s 2019 novel of the same name, the eight-episode limited series stars James Nesbitt (“Missing You”) as Simon Greene, a father whose life falls apart after his daughter (Ellie de Lange) disappears.

What is “Run Away” about?

Simon (Nesbitt) had the perfect life until his daughter Paige (de Lange) vanishes. When he finds her strung out in a city park, he believes he can finally bring her home. Instead, a violent confrontation sets off a dangerous chain of events, pulling him into an underworld of secrets that threaten to destroy his family.

Set and filmed in the U.K., “Run Away” reunites Coben with longtime collaborator Daniel Brocklehurst (“Fool Me Once”). Quay Street Productions’ Nicola Shindler returns as producer, with Coben executive producing alongside Shindler, lead writer Brocklehurst, Richard Fee (“Lazarus,” “Missing You”), and Nimer Rashed (“Fool Me Once,” “Missing You”).
