“Beast Games,” the blockbuster reality competition series from YouTube megastar Jimmy Donaldson (aka MrBeast), returns Jan. 7 on Prime Video. Season 2 introduces a new “Strong vs. Smart” twist, with 200 competitors battling for a $5 million prize. The season debuts with three episodes and continues weekly until the Feb. 25 finale.
Already renewed for a third season, “Beast Games” cemented its place in Prime Video history with its debut season. According to Parade, the show became the platform’s most-watched unscripted series, drawing 50 million viewers in just 25 days. Season 1 also broke 44 Guinness World Records, including the largest physical cash prize on set ($5 million), the most prize money turned down on a competition reality show ($1 million), and the largest prize fund awarded for a competitive reality series ($10 million).
Season 2 raises the stakes further with a special crossover episode featuring the Emmy Award–winning series “Survivor” and its longtime host, Jeff Probst. Contestants will face a hybrid course that blends “Beast Games” challenges with classic “Survivor” elements, including “mid-challenge bribes, strategic twists, and signature physical obstacles,” according to a press release.

Inspired by Netflix’s “Squid Games,” the series drops contestants into high-stakes mental, physical, and social challenges inside an arena dubbed “Beast City.” Filmed in Las Vegas and Fiji, Season 2 narrows the field to 100 of the world’s strongest competitors and 100 of the world’s brightest minds, shifting the focus toward gameplay, strategy, relationships, and skill over luck.
MrBeast co-created the series with Sean Klitzner, Tyler Conklin, and Mack Hopkins. Klitzner and Matt Apps serve as showrunners. Donaldson told Collider that Season 2 was intentionally designed to reduce randomness and place greater emphasis on skill.
