Season 1 focuses on Moiraine Damodred (Pike), a member of the magical all-women Aes Sedai. She is searching for a small group of young people from the village of Emond’s Field because she believes one of them is a reincarnation of the Dragon, prophesied to either save or destroy the world from an evil known as the Dark One. On Season 2, though the Dragon Reborn has vanquished the Dark One, evil is not gone. And on Season 3, the heroes must confront the darkness within themselves.
Kelly Valentine Hendry was the casting director for the first two seasons of “The Wheel of Time,” with Bonnie Rodini taking over for Season 3. Valentine Hendry is a CD from the U.K. who has cast everything from dramas to comedies to romance, including “Rivals,” “Bridgerton,” “Funny Woman,” and “Mary & George.” Here’s what she had to say about winning in auditions.
As for Rodini, her recent projects include “Anatomy of Lies,” “Around the World in 80 Days,” and “Chronicle.” In 2021, she made her directorial debut with “Good Life,” which she also cast.
