December is finally here – which means that as well as auditions, monologues, sides and filming, an actor’s brain is also full of Christmas! A brilliant yearly opportunity to sing, drink and get very, very merry…

There are some events you didn’t know you needed until you go and experience them, and we’re pretty sure for most actors Pride And Prejudice: A Pajama Party Marathon! is one of those. Every single episode of the Colin Firth BBC adaptation, plus themed refreshments. Cancel your Sunday plans, you’re busy. (£5)   

Network with directors.
On Tuesday over at BAFTA you can join a panel of top TV drama directors as they talk about their work and working with writers and actors. It’ll be a great chance to hear how directors like Jonny Campbell (Westworld), SJ Clarkson (Succession) and Euros Lyn develop and deliver their creative visions. (£10)

Musicals and mistletoe abound.
Over at the Phoenix actors’ bar on Sunday is the fourth annual Stand Up and Sing Festive Phoenix Fundraiser in aid of Macmillan Cancer Research. Musical theatre, festive songs and guest appearances from top West End performers ­– what more could you want or need! (£12.50)  

Go to the cinema for free.
On 9 December the British Film Institute is offering anyone with a National Lottery ticket two free seats for any film at the BFI. Quite the deal, eh! Called Thanks to You Day, all you have to do is present your ticket and take your pick of any one of the nine films on offer! (Free)

Sing a seasonal song.
Cor blimey worra luverly chance to gather round the old Joanna for Christmas! Islington’s beautiful Union Chapel hosts a Christmas Cockney Singalong on Tuesday. So why not grab a beverage and belt out a seasonal song or two! Pearly suit not obligatory. (£5)
