Sarah J. Maas has already conquered the “romantasy” world with her hit “A Court of Thorns and Roses” series, and the “ACOTAR” universe is only getting bigger. The author recently announced the titles of the highly anticipated sixth and seventh books in the series: “A Court of Splintered Harmony,” due out on Oct. 27, and “A Court of Forgotten Melody,” coming Jan. 12, 2027. While the long-in-development series adaptation is still searching for a new home, live out the fantasy yourself with the hottest fantasy and romance casting calls live right now!  

“The Lost Healer” 

Casting continues for “The Lost Healer,” a fantasy adventure film about a young princess who must locate a forbidden relic to save her kingdom from the tyrant who killed her parents. Nationwide actors, aged 25–60, are sought for supporting and day player roles, including Cailean, a knight assigned to patrol the woods. Production is also now hiring a set builder. Rehearsals are scheduled for this winter, followed by filming at various locations in Kentucky in May and June 2027. Pay is 200–300 per day for up to seven days of work.

“The Writer Comes Home” 

Join the cast of “The Writer Comes Home,” a romantic drama that follows Jeremiah, a burgeoning author, and his girlfriend Grace as they holiday to Jeremiah’s hometown for a week away, discovering truths about themselves and each other. England-based actors, aged 18–65, are sought for various roles, including the starring role of Jeremiah. First-round auditions are scheduled for the week of Aug. 31. Filming is scheduled for July 26–Aug. 14, 2027, in and around the Chichester area. Pay is up to £2,592.84 with travel expenses provided.

“Fantasy Fright: The Immersive Dark Fantasy Maze Experience” 

Fantasy Fright, a live immersive dark fantasy Halloween maze in Carlsbad, California, is now casting local actors, aged 18 and older, to play Lady Bryn, Sir Eyrton, and more during the upcoming Halloween season. Production is also hiring an operations manager. Rehearsals are scheduled for mid-to-late September, followed by performances on Oct. 2–Nov. 1. Pay is 2,600–3,600 for actors and $4,500 for crew.

“Empire of Smoke and Crow” 

Valor Films is currently seeking talent for “Empire of Smoke and Crow,” a short film following a mortal man who accidentally bridges a forbidden magical realm and is marked for death by its monstrous inhabitants, who are drawn to an artifact he carries. Idaho- and Utah-based actors, aged 18–60, are sought for various roles, including the protagonist Riven, a quiet, guarded wanderer. The lead roles require sword training. Production is also hiring a fight choreographer, a costume supervisor, and a special effects hair and makeup artist. Talent will work in Salt Lake City this fall. Pay is $100 for actors for four days of work and $100–$150 per day for crew with IMDb, craft services, and meals provided.

“The Sword” 

Join the cast of “The Sword,” a short fantasy/drama film following a relic hunter who discovers an ancient and powerful sword that draws dangerous supernatural attention and launches a thrilling adventure. A U.K.-based female actor, age 20–40, is sought to play the starring relic hunter Elena. Talent will work during the week of Aug. 10 in England. Pay is £100 for five hours of work plus travel expenses.

“After the Series”  

Sensation Studios is seeking talent for “After the Series,” a romantic drama based on the “After” book series by Anna Todd, about a college freshman who meets an unlikely roommate, opening her up to a different side of college—and herself. Talent, aged 18–55, is sought for several roles in the project, including the co-lead. Production is also hiring multiple crew roles, including an intimacy coordinator. Filming is scheduled for December in Fort Lauderdale and Miami, Florida. Pay is $300–$500 for the co-lead role; all other acting and crew roles are unpaid with potential travel expenses and on-set meals provided.

“Arcane Genesis” 

Casting is underway for the next episode of “Arcane Genesis,” an action-fantasy scripted series following a nameless man who becomes the vessel for The Warlock after crafting a mysterious helmet in a desperate attempt to transform himself. Talent, aged 18 and older, is sought to play lab apprentices, punks, zombies, and more, as well as a recurring lead character. Talent will work this fall in NYC. Pay is $150–$375 per day for up to four days of work with lunch and crafty provided.

“Secrets of The Coven” 

Join the cast of “Secrets of The Coven,” a feature horror-thriller set against the backdrop of the American bicentennial, where a small Texas town with a troubling history comes to believe that the ghost of a Latina woman wrongly killed on suspicion of witchcraft has returned to seek her vengeance. A Latina actor, age 22–26, is sought to play the lead role of Elsie, a strong but cautious Mexican woman. Talent will work in late Fall 2026 in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, area. Pay is $6,240 for four weeks of work with travel, housing, and per diem provided.

“Age of Fantasy: The Lady, The Wizard, and The Knight”  

 Fair Studios Productions is seeking talent for “Age of Fantasy: The Lady, The Wizard, and The Knight,” a dark fantasy short film as a proof of concept for a larger story universe. Production is casting talent, aged 10–65, for a wide variety of characters, including elves, dwarf warriors, mages, townsfolk, and more. Talent will work around the Greater Los Angeles area with dates TBD. Pay is $150–$300 per day for up to 10 days of work with meals and IMDb credit included.
