Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning are set to star in and executive produce “Discretion,” a new legal thriller in development at Paramount+ that highlights the risks of secrecy and power. The series is based on a yet-to-be-published short story by Chandler Baker, author of “The Husbands” and “Whisper Network.” Baker is adapting the series with Oscar-nominated screenwriter Susannah Grant (“Erin Brockovich,” “Unbelievable”).
“Discretion” marks the fourth collaboration between Kidman and Fanning, following their work on Sofia Coppola’s 2017 period film “The Beguiled,” John Cameron Mitchell’s 2017 sci-fi rom-com “How to Talk to Girls at Parties,” and Apple TV+’s upcoming series “Margo’s Got Money Troubles.”
While details about “Discretion” remain tightly under wraps, production is expected to begin sometime in early 2026. Here’s what we know about the project so far.

“Discretion” is a legal drama that follows Lenny (Fanning), a summer associate working at an elite law firm in Dallas, Texas. By accident, she discovers that the company’s strict nondisclosure agreements are covering up a dark secret. As Lenny digs deeper, she realizes she’s trapped by the very same NDA, locking her into a dangerous struggle for control with the firm’s senior female partner, Sharon (Kidman). Despite being Lenny’s former mentor, Sharon is willing to do whatever it takes to protect the firm.
The story is believed to be based on Baker’s own experience working as a corporate attorney.

A24 is producing the series. Executive producers include Baker, Grant, Jordan Cerf of Linden Entertainment, Joe Hipps, Brittany Kahan, Dakota Fanning, and Per Saari. Kidman and Fanning will executive produce for Blossom Films and Lewellen Pictures, respectively.
