What is “Nine Perfect Strangers” about?

Season 1 of “Nine Perfect Strangers” follows Masha (Kidman), the founder of Tranquillum House, a wellness resort in California, and a group of nine strangers who arrive for a 10-day retreat, hoping to heal from their various personal struggles. As the plot unfolds, the guests realize that there’s something suspicious and unsettling about Masha, causing them to resist her personalized treatment plans (which, naturally, doesn’t go over well). According to Deadline, Season 2 takes place in the Austrian Alps, where Masha has a new resort location and a new batch of unsuspecting guests. The series is based on the 2018 book of the same name by Liane Moriarty, who also wrote the 2014 novel-turned-show “Big Little Lies.”
