Three years after “This Is Us” came to an emotional close, Mandy Moore and creator Dan Fogelman are reuniting for a brand-new project: a family football drama headed to Hulu. Written and produced by Fogelman, the currently untitled series stars Moore alongside Christopher Meloni (“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”), William H. Macy (“Shameless”), and Chace Crawford (“Gossip Girl”). Though the show’s official title and premiere date have yet to be announced, Moore recently shared on Instagram that filming has already begun. Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming sports drama.

Moore steps into the role of Lauren Durkin, the presumed heiress to a fictional NFL franchise owned by her father, Hank Durkin (Macy). Meloni plays the team’s head coach, Danny Roarke, while Crawford plays the general manager. Though plot details remain under wraps, the series is likely to delve into themes of family, power, and sports legacy.
During an appearance on “Today With Jenna & Friends,” Moore revealed that she spoke with Charlotte Jones, the daughter of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, suggesting that her new character may draw inspiration from real-life sports royalty.

Emmy-winning casting duo Courtney Bright and Nicole Daniels (“American Crime Story”) are the CDs. In addition to Fogelman, executive producers include Jess Rosenthal, Kevin Falls, David Ellison, Jesse Sisgold, and Jason Reed. Eric Appel (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Die Hart”) is directing.
