Production is re-opening and these UK projects are now visible on the horizon, whether in development or actively casting. Keep these leads on your radar and your eyes open for the opportunity to land an audition.
Gangs of London 2
The second instalment of Sky’s high-octane crime series Gangs of London is now confirmed to be shooting in March 2021. With an all-star returning cast including Joe Cole, Sope Dirisu, Paapa Essiedu, and Lucian Msamati, the second season now has CD Kelly Valentine Hendry attached.
This feature drama from actor-director Ross McCall (Band of Brothers) follows a dangerous prisoner in his 50s as he navigates both the prison system, his new cellmate, and the tricky subject of redemption. Shooting dates are yet to be confirmed but casting director Suzanne Smith is now attached.
A Very English Scandal 2
This is the second outing from the creators of BBC series A Very English Scandal, which starred Ben Whishaw and Hugh Grant. This time, creator Russell T Davies turns his attention from MPs behaving badly to Margaret, Duchess of Argyll, a socialite whose divorce shook the British establishment to the core. Shooting begins in early 2021 and casting directors Leo Davis and Lissy Holm are attached.
The Capture 2
Earlier this year, the BBC greenlit a second series of Ben Chanan’s acclaimed new series The Capture. Starring Holliday Grainger as Rachel Carey, a detective investigating the case of an ex-soldier (played by Callum Turner), the edge-of-your-seat series returns next year to explore how even surveillance images can be manipulated to serve nefarious purposes. We can now confirm that Kate Rhodes-James is on board to cast, and production begins in January 2021.
