Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios’ take on the classic Spider-Noir character from Marvel Comics is coming to the small screen in 2026. Nicolas Cage plays the titular web-slinger alongside Lamorne Morris (“New Girl”), Brendan Gleeson (“The Banshees of Inisherin”), Abraham Popoola (“Atlas”), Karen Rodriguez (“Swarm”), Li Jun Li (“Sinners”), and Jack Huston (“Wayfair Witches”) on the live-action adaptation. Cage previously voiced the character in Sony’s 2018 animated film “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.” Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, said the series will be “a first of its kind,” as it’ll debut in both black and white and color, according to Deadline.
At this time, “Spider-Noir” is slated to premiere on MGM+ domestically, followed by Prime Video globally the next day. Season 1 will consist of eight episodes. Here’s everything you need to know about the new series.

Based on the classic Marvel comic “Spider-Man Noir,” the upcoming adaptation focuses on an alternate timeline in which Cage plays a washed-up, down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York. The titular protagonist must come to terms with his past as the only superhero in the city.
While few other details about the show’s premise have been released at this time, the comic series saw the noir Peter Parker get bitten by the poisonous spider while investigating a smuggling ring in Depression-era NYC. With superhuman powers to help him take the city’s criminal underbelly to task, Parker defeats the city’s ultimate crime lord, Norman Osborn, and goes on to fight forces in Nazi Germany pre–World War II. We can’t be sure which elements of the comic will come to life onscreen, but the character’s vigilante past will surely impact his present on “Spider-Noir.”
