History buffs, fans of quirky British humor, and those who admire fabulous female stars are collectively building the buzz for director Yorgos Lanthimos’ newest cinematic venture, “The Favourite.” Written by Deborah Davis and Tony McNamara, the upcoming 18th century dark comedy stars an astonishing trio of talent: the legendary Olivia Colman as Queen Anne, and Oscar winners Rachel Weisz and Emma Stone as her aspiring favorites.
Fox Searchlight Pictures will release “The Favourite” in the U.S. Nov. 23, following promising premieres at this year’s Venice Film Festival and Telluride Film Festival. Watch the film’s fun and vaguely disturbing new trailer below.
