Fans of Leslie Knope should keep this upcoming comedy on their radar. Amy Poehler is reuniting with “Parks and Recreation” creator Mike Schur for the Peacock series “Dig.” Poehler and Schur, who also created “The Good Place” and “A Man on the Inside,” are co-writing and executive producing the comedy series, which marks their first collaboration since “Parks and Rec” concluded in 2015. “Dig” is currently in development and a release date hasn’t been announced yet, but here’s what has been confirmed about the project so far.

According to Peacock, “Dig” is about four women working at an archaeological site in Greece. The women uncover a “long-buried secret with the potential to rewrite history” and suddenly find themselves at the center of an international conspiracy. The story is adapted from the 2023 novel “Excavations” by Kate Myers.
Poehler will star in the series and is currently the only confirmed cast member. Given her reputation for collaborating with former “Saturday Night Live” and “Parks and Rec” cast members on other projects, viewers can only hope that Poehler will tap some of her fellow comedians to make an appearance on “Dig.”
J.J. Philbin (“New Girl,” “Only Murders in the Building”) is joining Poehler and Schur as a writer and executive producer. Additional executive producers include Morgan Sackett, Dave Becky, David Miner, Sharon Jackson, Kate Arend, Jordan Grief, and Myers.
A casting director hasn’t yet been announced for the series, but it’s always a good idea to practice your comedy skills if you’re hoping to get noticed for a show like “Dig.” And remember that working with a professional acting agent will help you level up in all areas.
