Production for HBO’s “Harry Potter” series starts this summer at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden. As recently announced, John Lithgow is playing Professor Dumbledore in the upcoming series adaptation, with Janet McTeer currently in talks to play Professor McGonagall and Paapa Essiedu reportedly closing his deal to play Professor Snape. Join the cast of “Where,” a student film that follows two young girls, Vee and Ari, who try to live normally after being attacked by a werewolf. Two actors, aged 18–50, are wanted for the lead role of Vee and the supporting role of Sandra. Filming will take place on March 28–30 in New York or New Jersey. Pay is $100 for the lead role; the supporting role is unpaid. Meals on set, credit, and copy will be provided.

“The Ring of the Saint”

SunderVerse Media is seeking talent for “The Ring of the Saint,” a fantasy-crime short film set in Hong Kong that entails the story of a magical ring that found its way into the city, one girl’s pledge to uphold the honor of her father, and one crime lord’s relentless determination to gain its powers for himself. U.K. and Hong Kong-based actors, aged 18–65, are wanted for various roles, including the lead roles of Meilin and Reginald Harrow. Filming will take place later this year in Ryhope, England. Pay is $150 per day, with all expenses, including food, travel, and accommodations, covered.

“Scythe”

Casting is underway for “Scythe,” a short film set in a dark and unforgiving medieval fantasy landscape where a war-hardened young man makes a deal with Death to save the only person he cares about. Actors, aged 18–70, are wanted for various roles, including the lead roles of Caden and Alaina. Filming will take place on March 27–31, with one additional filming date between April 1 and 3 in Pleasantville, New York. Pay is $45 for one day of work for supporting talent and $105–$215 for lead talent for up to six days of work.

“Kingdom of Darkness”

Casting is underway for “Kingdom of Darkness,” a 1913-set feature film heavily inspired by Terrence Malick’s “The Tree of Life” and Robert Eggers’ “The Witch,” where a satanic worshipper is sent by the Devil from the spirit realm to kill a devoted faithful Christian woman until he falls in love with her and battles between his morality. Two actors, aged 20–25, are wanted to play the lead roles of Taylor and Thomas. Filming will take place in late Fall 2025 in Ontario. Pay is $2,000–$4,000 for two weeks of work with meals, travel reimbursement, and reel footage provided.

“The Riot Sky”

Join the cast of “The Riot Sky,” a feature film following Lyra, the only child of House Cadaenis, who goes on the run after her dog kills the two men who assaulted her lady-in-waiting. Actors, aged 18–60, are wanted for various supporting roles. Production is also seeking a production assistant. Filming has begun and will continue around Rochester, Minnesota. Pay is $15 per hour with accommodations provided.

“Coven”

Join the cast of “Coven,” a student film about three witches bound by fate who must navigate a world of hidden magic to prevent a malevolent force from merging two dimensions into chaos. Two female actors, aged 22–50, are wanted for a lead role as one of the witches, Obsidian, and a supporting role. Additionally, production is hiring multiple crew roles, including a production designer. Talent will work in the New York City area. Pay is $20–$40, with travel and lunch provided.

“Threshold”

Join the cast of “Threshold,” a short fantasy film about a man, haunted by a past he can’t escape, who follows cryptic messages up a remote mountain where eerie figures and strange visions unsettle him. A male actor, age 30–50, is currently wanted to star as James, a man on a mission to bring his family back to life. Additionally, two female actors—one age 9–18 and one age 25–45—are wanted to play James’s wife and daughter in background roles. Filming will take place this spring in New York. “Starlight”

Starlight,” a drama-fantasy short film, is seeking three male Los Angeles-based actors, aged 24 and older, for two lead roles and one supporting role. Production is also seeking an experienced 1st assistant director. Talent must have experience working with kids and scheduling/budgeting. Filming will take place in early April. Pay is up to $2,500 for five days of work.

“Deborah”

Deborah,” a fantasy-romance student film, is seeking talent for several roles, including the titular role of Deborah. The actor playing Deborah must be comfortable with some nudity. Filming will take place in mid-May in New York and/or New Jersey. Pay is $50–$150 per day for four days of work for the lead actor. (Supporting talent will be paid a profit share, and day player roles are unpaid.) Travel expense reimbursement and meals and snacks will be provided.

“XOLO”

Join the cast of “XOLO,” a short fantasy-drama film being produced through the LFI/Netflix Inclusion fellowship. Production is seeking Latinx or Indigenous talent of any gender, aged 18 and up, to play the Aztec god Xolotl. Talent must be comfortable with body paint and working with a dog and will speak Nahuatl on camera with the help of a consultant. Filming will take place in L.A. with dates TBD.
