On May 27, HBO announced that Dominic McLaughlin will play The Boy Who Lived alongside Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley in the upcoming “Harry Potter” series. Production for the new show this summer at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden. As recently announced, John Lithgow is playing Professor Dumbledore in the upcoming series adaptation, with Janet McTeer to play Professor McGonagall and Paapa Essiedu to play Professor Snape. Join the cast of the feature film “The Kingdom of Rexmonte.” The medieval fantasy comedy is about a fractured royal family facing an invasion. The production wants Black talent, aged 45–65, to play a stoic king, Indigenous Peoples, Latino, white, or multiethnic male talent, aged 40–65, to play a general, plus more. Shooting is through Nov. 3 in Greenbrier County, West Virginia and Altamont, New York. Pay is $200 per day for supporting and day player roles.

Feature Film: “The Seer and the Sword”

The feature film “The Seer and the Sword” is looking for talent. The medieval dark fantasy is in the tradition of “The Witcher” and “Game of Thrones.” The production wants white female talent, aged 60–85, to play an enigmatic oracle, white female talent, aged 22–35, to play a young mother, plus more. Shooting is for 18 days this December in Kentucky; most roles shoot in 4–6 days. Pay is negotiable, starting at $125 per day.

Feature Film: “The Black Chapel”

The feature film “The Black Chapel” is seeking male talent, aged 25–35, for a principal role. The emotionally-driven horror-fantasy story is set in a creepy, mythical forest. Talent will play Rhode, a deeply reactive person whose self-destructive tendencies disguise a kind heart. Shooting is in New York and New Jersey. Pay is $2,500 for an 18-day shoot.

Short Film: “Autumn Grave”

The short film “Autumn Grave” is looking for talent. The horror film is about a criminal who is killed and then reborn as a vengeful scarecrow. The production wants male talent with movement and physical theater skills, aged 18–29, to play the scarecrow, and female talent with singing and guitar skills, aged 18–27, to play a devilish queen. Shooting is Nov. 14–16 in New Jersey. Pay is $200–$500 per day, depending on the role.

Short Film: “Zarbalatrax”

The short film “Zarbalatrax” wants male talent, aged 30 and up. The fantasy story is about a fortune-telling machine that sends a young woman into her past life as a knight at war with monstrous beasts. Talent will play a trickster god in disguise, a role that requires wearing a silicone mask. Shooting is Oct. 23–26 in the Seattle, Washington area. Pay is $100 for a 6-hour shoot.

Short Film: “We Meet Again”

Join the cast of the short film “We Meet Again.” The coming-of-age fantasy is about a Korean American young woman who discover her past life as a powerful queen. The production wants Asian female talent, aged 16–18, to play a high school student who is struggling with her parents’ expectations, Asian female talent with Korean language skills, aged 30–40, to play the last monarch of the Joseon Dynasty, plus more. Shooting is Nov. 8–9 in NYC or New Jersey and Dec. 6–7 in NYC. Pay is a flat $450 for 24 hours of shooting.

Short Film: “His Royal Lie-ness”

The short film “His Royal Lie-ness” wants Latina or Black female talent, aged 23–28. The love story is about a princess who daringly escapes an arranged wedding and invites a peasant to marry her so she can claim the throne. Talent will play the peasant, a clever woman who must disguise herself as a prince. Shooting is this November. Pay is $150 for a 2-hour shoot.

“Kingdom of Darkness”

Casting is underway for “Kingdom of Darkness,” a 1913-set feature film heavily inspired by Terrence Malick’s “The Tree of Life” and Robert Eggers’ “The Witch,” where a satanic worshipper is sent by the Devil from the spirit realm to kill a devoted faithful Christian woman until he falls in love with her and battles between his morality. Two actors, aged 20–25, are wanted to play the lead roles of Taylor and Thomas. Filming will take place in late Fall 2025 in Ontario. Pay is $2,000–$4,000 for two weeks of work with meals, travel reimbursement, and reel footage provided.

“The Riot Sky”

Join the cast of “The Riot Sky,” a feature film following Lyra, the only child of House Cadaenis, who goes on the run after her dog kills the two men who assaulted her lady-in-waiting. Actors, aged 18–60, are wanted for various supporting roles. Production is also seeking a production assistant. Filming has begun and will continue around Rochester, Minnesota. Pay is $15 per hour with accommodations provided.

Dark Fantasy Comedy (Indie Arthouse)

Dungeon Rat Productions is seeking talent for a dark fantasy comedy in the vein of “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.” California-based actors, aged 18 and older, are wanted for various character roles, including The Scarab Knight, an old dragonslayer, a necromancer, and more. Filming dates are TBD in and around Fair Oaks. Pay is $50–$600, depending on the role and days worked.
