Based on Laura Dave’s hit novel by the same name, “The Last Thing He Told Me” debuted on Apple TV in April 2023, with Jennifer Garner (as Hannah Hall), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (as Owen Michaels), Angourie Rice (as Bailey Michaels), Aisha Tyler (as Jules Nichols), and Augusto Aguilera (as Grady Bradford) at the helm. Apple renewed the series for a second season in March 2024, which will debut via the streamer on Feb. 20, 2026. Like Season 1, the next installment will consist of eight episodes, but it will be based on Dave’s upcoming sequel novel, “The First Time I Saw Him.” Rita Wilson and Judy Greer will join the cast in Season 2. “The Last Thing He Told Me” follows Hannah Hall (Garner) as she struggles to develop a relationship with her stepdaughter, Bailey (Rice). When her husband, Owen (Coster-Waldau), finds himself at the center of some shady dealings at work, he vanishes, leaving Hannah nothing more than a note that says: “Protect her.” Now Bailey’s sole caretaker, Hannah must team up with the angry teen to uncover the truth behind Owen’s disappearance. But as it turns out, no one is who they seem, leaving the two to grapple with an unexpected discovery that brings them closer.
