On March 14, creator Taylor Sheridan’s pantheon of compelling Paramount+ programming will expand with “The Madison.” This new show is the fifth series in Sheridan’s “Yellowstone” franchise. As a spinoff with yet unknown ties to the Dutton family, “The Madison” will take place amid Montana’s Big Sky country, a picturesque setting not unlike those in Sheridan’s previous projects. While we don’t know how the six-episode season will roll out (all at once or once per week?), we do know the series is stacked with talent—Sheridan’s signature—as Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell, Elle Chapman, Patrick J. Adams, and Matthew Fox are set to lead the new series.

While details about the show’s premise remain sparse, we do know “The Madison” will follow the Clyburns, a New York City–based family, as they relocate to Montana after a horrible tragedy. Unlike Sheridan’s gruff subject matter in past series, “The Madison” marks an emotional departure as the show seemingly explores grief and healing in the aftermath of unspeakable sadness.
Christina Alexandra Voros, who directed all episodes of Season 1, told Variety in 2024, “It’s such a different story. The common ground is the landscape. We are in Montana, but it is seen through a completely different lens, so it feels like another facet of this cut stone that has been polished. There are parallels in the scope of landscape and a human being’s place in that space, but it’s coming at it from a completely different point of view.”
