Ready for ‘The Bear’ Season 3? Apply to These Gigs

At last month’s Primetime Emmy Awards, “The Bear” swept the field, winning for every category in which it was nominated. Season 3 of the critically acclaimed show returns to FX on Hulu this June, but if you can’t wait that long, consider auditioning for your own family-centric comedy or drama project. The productions below are all casting for talent now.

“Stolen Legacy”

A scripted show about a wealthy, enigmatic family is casting for its pilot episode shoot March 1–3 in Los Angeles. Production is filling multiple roles, including a lead female actor, aged 18–25, to play Amelia, a lead male actor, aged 50–55, to play Joseph, and a lead female actor, aged 45–50, to play Cassandra. All roles pay a flat rate of $200–$900 for an estimated three days of work.

“Braids & Bows”

A student film about a tween grappling with her conservative upbringing is casting for its April 5–8 shoot in Austin. Production is filling multiple roles, including a lead female/gender-nonconforming/non-binary/trans female actor, aged 18–30, to play Evelyn-Grace, a supporting female/gender-nonconforming/non-binary/trans female actor, aged 30–60, to play Mom, and a supporting male/gender-nonconforming/non-binary/trans male actor, aged 30–60, to play Dad. All listed roles pay $25 per day for an estimated two days of work.

“Rebound”

A short film about a basketball player navigating loss, abuse, and shattered family dynamics is casting for its March shoot in Cincinnati. Production is filling multiple roles, including a lead male actor, aged 18–24, to play Ghalen, a lead male actor, aged 30–50, to play Malik, and a supporting female actor, aged 30–50, to play Aaliyah. The roles of Ghalen and Malik pay $100 per day for an estimated five days of work. The role of Aaliyah pays $75 per day for an estimated three days of work. Please note that Ghalen's role requires basketball skills.

“Bye, Robbie”

A short film about a family-oriented man who learns he is infertile is casting for its March 27–28 shoot in Los Angeles. Production is filling multiple roles, including a lead male actor, aged 25–40, to play Fred and a supporting male actor, aged 6–13, to play Robbie. Both roles pay $250 per day for an estimated two days of work.

“Take Your Daughter to Work Day”

A short film about a therapist whose daughter attends a client’s first day of therapy is casting for its April 15 shoot in Massachusetts. Production seeks a lead male actor, aged 25–35, to play Roger, a lead all genders actor, aged 35–50, to play Dr. Smoulder, and a supporting female actor, aged 5–10, to play Grace. All roles pay $150 per day for an estimated single day of work.
