The “Doomsday” clock is ticking. We are officially three months away from the long-awaited movie event of the year, with Marvel’s “Avengers: Doomsday” due in theaters on Dec. 18. The “Endgame” sequel will bring together not just the titular superhero team but also the Wakandans, New Avengers, Fantastic Four, and the X-Men as they converge to face Doom. If you haven’t yet checked out the trailer, you can expect an all-star, superpowered cast that includes Robert Downey Jr. (this time as Doctor Doom, not Tony Stark), Pedro Pascal, Florence Pugh, Anthony Mackie, Chris Hemsworth, and many, many others. “Black Cobra”
Casting continues for “Black Cobra,” a superhero-themed action-drama series following DeDe Hornsby, who has her sights set on being the latest in a long line of family members to don the mantle of the “Black Cobra” against her mother’s wishes. Texas-based actors, aged 18–55, are sought for several roles, including the supporting role of Lady Deathshot, a killer for hire and hand-to-hand specialist. Talent will work in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Denton with dates TBD. Pay is undisclosed with credit, copy, and snacks provided.

“The Necromancer”
Shining Giant Productions is now casting “The Necromancer,” an action-fantasy pilot proof of concept following a group of four knights tasked with entering dangerous woods to find a witch. Actors, aged 18 and older, are sought for several lead and supporting roles, including the lead knights and the antagonistic witch. Combat skills will be required for several roles. Filming will take place in the Greater Boston area in early December. Pay is $100–$400 per day for up to eight days of work.

Action Feature Film
WHAT! Films is now seeking talent for a fight/combat-heavy action feature film. Worldwide actors, aged 20–40, are sought for several roles, including Black Widow, Iron Saint, Machete, and more. Filming will take place in Manila, Philippines, beginning on Nov. 1. Pay is $2,000 for up to 20 days of work, with travel, accommodations, and meals provided.

“Run”
Join the cast of “Run,” a short film and series following a character mastering his super speed. Production is now seeking a male actor, age 30–80, to play Santa Claus in a Christmas episode and a female actor, age 20–30, to play Taylor, the hero’s love interest and a fellow hero with super speed, in the upcoming film. Filming will take place in Tampa and St. Charles, Missouri, in Spring and Summer 2028. The role of Santa Claus is unpaid, and the role of Taylor will be paid a negotiable $500–$1,200 for seven days of work. Travel will be provided.

“Spider-Man: Alliance” Fan Film
Casting is currently underway for “Spider-Man: Alliance,” a pilot for an upcoming fan series of prequels from the makers of “Spider-Man: Fallout.” U.S.-based actors, 18–25, are sought for several roles, including Peter Parker, Mary Jane, and more. Production is also now hiring a director and a stunt choreographer. Filming will take place in New York City over two days in the summer of 2027. Pay is $75–$350 for actors and $400 for crew, with on-set meals provided.
