Andrey Psyche recently booked a gig on Adult Swim’s “Digikiss Presents: Quarantine Valentine.” He credits the win to seizing the opportunities that come his way.

Collaboration is its own reward.

“ ‘Digikiss’ is an online blind-dating show that promises to match people up. I thought it would be really interesting to see who I would get to interact with. Building relationships is one of the highest art forms imaginable.”

Make room for humility while working.

“Acting is less about putting on a different mask and more about being as vulnerable and bare as possible—with yourself, and with the audience.”

Treat every job—whether it’s in the industry or not—as a chance to act.

“If you want to do something interesting and new every day, you can find gigs to fill your days. I’ve found incredible opportunities to [experience life] while also getting paid: hosting private parties, bartending at major festivals, modeling, blackjack dealing, news reporting, and so much more. You get to practice your acting in new scenarios and environments, and you get to fill your ‘experience bank.’ ”

Cater your reel to the role you’re going for.

“I used my music video as my reel to get on the Adult Swim show, because it captures a lot of what makes me me. It shows a connection to who I am while still showing my acting abilities—even without dialogue. This might bite me in the butt in the long run, but for now, it works to show people what they can expect.”

Let the pieces fall into place.

“As long as you’re doing what you’re doing because you love doing it, everything will work out for you in the end.”
