“Law & Order: SVU” Spinoff
In the criminal justice system, it seems no one is really gone for good. Despite production standstills across the globe, some exciting news is simmering behind the scenes for fans of “Law & Order: SVU.” While an official announcement and confirmation from NBC is still pending, several sources have reported the network has ordered a spinoff to series from “Law & Order” franchise creator Dick Wolf, who will head up the production.

Christopher Meloni, who played Detective Elliot Stabler and departed the series at the end of the show’s 12th season, will return to the precinct in the hourlong drama, now working in the organized crime division of the NYPD. The series is still in its infancy, so details about crossovers or specific storylines are scant. Meloni is currently the only actor attached to the project. It’s uncertain when additional actors will be added and how the audition process will take place. No casting director has been officially attached, but longtime “SVU” casting director Jonathan Strauss could be a potential contender. As is the case with almost all productions right now, no shooting dates are currently planned. The drama has no official location either, but all signs point to a home base in New York.

“Love, Beth”
Amy Schumer is ready to return to TV with a 10-episode order on Hulu for “Love, Beth,” which will follow a woman who is looking to her past to find some semblance of happiness in her future. Schumer, who is currently the only cast member attached, will also write, direct, and executive produce the series in a first-look deal with the streamer. Gayle Keller Casting will bring in additional actors when production resumes, which is tentatively scheduled to begin in summer and run through the fall. When the project does begin shooting, it will do so in New York.
