Kit Connor is on one hell of a run. Late last year, there was the one-two punch of his lead voice role in the Oscar-nominated animated film “The Wild Robot” and the release of Season 3 of “Heartstopper,” Netflix’s massively successful teen romance that he’s starred on since 2022. He also shot “Warfare,” the intense Navy SEAL ensemble film from co-directors Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza (in theaters April 11) and had his Broadway debut in “Romeo and Juliet.” It’s a wide range of projects—all of them, Connor says, their own unique opportunity to grow as an artist.

“Acting is fascinating because everyone is in pursuit of this intangible thing: Everyone is striving for the perfect performance,” he tells us. “And yet there really is no such thing. But you can feel it when you get close. With every job, I take one small step closer. I’m still far off. But the pursuit is what acting is all about.”

On this episode of In the Envelope: The Actor’s Podcast, Connor dives into his career and process, his ambitious goals, and how he’s planning for the inevitable end of “Heartstopper.”
