After a failed attempt to make a sequel to 1987’s “Masters of the Universe” and a nearly-20-year development cycle, a new entry to the sword and sorcery franchise hits theaters on June 5 with Amazon MGM’s “Masters of the Universe.” Nicholas Galitzine is taking up the mantle as Prince Adam, a.k.a. He-Man, in the live-action feature opposite Camila Mendes, Idris Elba, Alison Brie, Jared Leto, and more as Adam returns to his home planet to save the universe from the evil Skeletor. “Black Cobra”
Skunk Life Media is continuing its search for talent for “Black Cobra,” a superhero-themed action-drama series following a family line of superheroes known as the Black Cobra. Texas-based talent, aged 19–60, is sought for several roles, including Dante, one of the Hornsby family members to don the Black Cobra mantle. Filming will take place in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Denton, with dates TBD. Pay is undisclosed.

“Stellen”
Casting is underway for “Stellen,” an action-thriller feature following a tactically trained woman and her personal protection dog who are forced into a ruthless cat-and-mouse war across Los Angeles when a powerful human trafficker puts a citywide bounty on her capture. A Los Angeles-based female actor, age 25–35, is sought for the starring role of Erin. Rehearsals begin on June 27 for filming in late summer. Pay is $250 per day for a planned 15 days of work.

“Daredevil” and “Elektra” Fan Film
Casting is underway for a feature-length superhero fan film inspired by “Daredevil,” “Elektra,” and “The Punisher.” Two Ohio-based actors, aged 20–39, are sought to play Elektra and Matt Murdock, a.k.a. Daredevil. Production is also hiring a cinematographer. Filming will take place in Ohio in mid-to-late summer. Pay is $100 with meals, snacks, a copy, and IMDb credit provided.

“Sgt Slaughter The Origin Story”
“Sgt Slaughter The Origin Story,” an action-packed military feature film that explores the backstory of the legendary icon’s larger-than-life persona, is casting talent aged 18–45 for several roles, including the titular Marine, as well as the film’s antagonist. Filming for the teaser will take place at the end of July and early August, followed by principal photography. Pay ranges from $25 for background talent and $1,000 per day for lead talent (up to 21 days of work).

Casting is underway for “The Lost Healer,” a fantasy adventure film about a young princess who must locate a forbidden relic to save her kingdom from the tyrant who killed her parents. Nationwide actors, aged 7–60, are sought for supporting and day player roles. Join the cast of “Lights,” a feature sci-fi comedy following a UFO-obsessed YouTuber and his friends who follow a government whistleblower’s coordinates to a remote forest and become trapped in an extraterrestrial testing ground with no way out. Production is seeking four Arizona-based actors, aged 25–31, for the film's lead roles. Production is also hiring a production assistant and a sound mixer. Filming will take place on Sept. 1–20 in Arizona. Pay is $165 per day for 14 days of work.
