Lights up, actors—join an upcoming production of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “In the Heights,” currently casting singers and dancers. Plus, a professional reading is casting talent, a spokesperson is wanted for an African Ancestry video, and the upcoming Broadway revival of “West Side Story” is casting its principal and ensemble roles. 

“IN THE HEIGHTS,” SINGERS & DANCERS
Westport Country Playhouse in Connecticut is seeking singers and dancers to join the ensemble of its upcoming production of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “In the Heights.” Union performers, aged 18 or older, with hip-hop and Latin dance experience are wanted to join the cast. There will be Equity Chorus Calls in New York City on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1. Rehearsals will begin on March 6 with tech from April 18–21, previews from April 23–26, and performances from April 27–May 12 with a possible extension. Pay is $941 per week, minimum. Apply here!

“OTHER SIDE OF HAPPY”
The Actor’s Project NYC is casting a professional reading of the Bobby Holder play “Other Side of Happy.” Talent, aged 21–25, is wanted for the lead roles in the production, including Katie, an insecure singer who struggles with her weight, and Edge, a trans actor. There will be a week of rehearsals followed by the reading in early March in NYC. Pay is $100. Apply here!

AFRICAN ANCESTRY, “ABOUT US” VIDEO
A Black female actor, aged 20–35, is wanted to be the spokesperson for an African Ancestry “About Us” video. The actor should be energetic, personable, and comfortable reading from a teleprompter. The video will shoot on Feb. 9 in the Washington, D.C. area. Pay is $500. Apply here!

“WEST SIDE STORY,” L.A. OPEN DANCE CALL
The upcoming Broadway revival of “West Side Story,” directed by Ivo van Hove, is casting lead and ensemble roles. Latinx performers, aged 18 and older, are wanted for the principal roles of Maria, Bernardo, and Anita. The production is also casting contemporary dancers, aged 15–24. There will be an audition by appointment on Jan. 22. Rehearsals will begin October in NYC. Professional pay will be provided. Apply here!
