“I believe every vocal instructor should have some form of classical training,” says Martin, a classically trained opera singer turned pop recording artist. Martin has been singing professionally since she was 4 years old and started giving lessons when she was just 16. She believes that “a really good voice teacher can sing, has sung, or is still singing.” Martin knows the art form is a very physical, aerobic activity and has trained singers, actors, and even comedians like Nikki Glaser. Dove Cameron isn’t the only singer in her family: Hosterman, the pop star’s sister, is also a professional in her own right. Stewart is a multi-instrumentalist (piano and guitar) with 25 years of experience in recording, performing, and session work. Focusing on tone and range, Stewart is an intuitive teacher who also uses his skillset to help rehabilitate singers suffering from nodes and other vocal ailments
