It follows Andy (Hathaway), a recent college graduate who dreams of becoming a journalist but instead finds herself working as a junior assistant to Miranda (Streep), the demanding and powerful editor-in-chief of the high-fashion magazine Runway.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, “The Devil Wears Prada 2” will focus on Miranda as she navigates the decline of the print media industry. Her former assistant Emily (Blunt) is now a high-ranking executive at a luxury fashion group. Details are limited about what Andy will be up to in the sequel—or whether she’s still working as a reporter at the fictional New York Mirror, as she was at the end of the first film.

Aline Brosh McKenna, who wrote the screenplay for “The Devil Wears Prada,” is back for the sequel, along with producers Wendy Finerman and Karen Rosenfelt. The project is being developed by 20th Century Studios.
