After its successful 18-episode run on NBC, “Happy’s Place” is officially greenlit for a second season, reports NBC Insider. The sitcom will return this fall, with Reba McEntire reprising her lead role alongside costar Belissa Escobedo (“Hocus Pocus 2”). Set in Knoxville, Tennessee, the sitcom follows Bobbie McAllister (McEntire) after she inherits a partial share of her late father’s bar called Happy’s Place. She discovers that she has a half-sister, Isabella (Escobedo), who’s inherited the other share of the tavern. Season 1 focuses on Bobbie and Isabella’s new relationship as sisters and business partners, highlighting their opposite personalities and age gap. The season ends as Bobbie’s daughter, Gracie (Emma Kenney, “Shameless,” “The Conners”), returns from military deployment, reigniting old mother-daughter issues.

The show is filmed in front of a live studio audience at the Universal Studios Lot in Los Angeles.
