Attention all lovers of the 1990s and its corresponding cinematic gem, “Cruel Intentions”: A musical adaptation of the sardonic comedy is coming to New York, and the casting search for several principal roles is underway.

Under the casting direction of Henry Russell Bergstein and casting associate Satchel Buck Jones, Equity Principal Auditions will be held in New York City Sept. 23.

Female actors are needed for roles including Annette, Cecile, and Kathryn, played iconically in the film by Sarah Michelle Gellar. Talent is sought for some of the male roles, too, including Ronald and Greg.

Those hired will be needed for rehearsals beginning Oct. 31, in preparation for a run slated for Nov. 17–Dec. 11.

Pay will be $575/week, adhering to an Equity Cabaret Agreement.

Lindsey Rosin will helm the project as director, with co-creation credited to Jordan Ross, Lindsey Rosin, and Roger Kumble.

This run is a revival of sorts for the outside-the-box project; a pop-up engagement ran this past February at downtown club (Le) Poisson Rouge, with “Next to Normal” Tony nominee Jenn Damiano leading the cast.
