“The Rookie”
New series, new officer, new filming dates. “The Rookie” is currently in town! The series, halfway through its first season, has been filming at Willow Studios, 1335 Willow St., as well as Mateo and Palmetto Street this week. The ABC crime dramedy, which stars Nathan Fillion, just aired its midseason finale last night, so expect to see the production continue shooting for its second half in the coming months. The series follows John Nolan, who moves to L.A. to pursue a new career as a police officer, becoming the oldest rookie on the force. Ulrich/Dawson/Kritzer, the casting brains behind FX’s “American Horror Story” and ABC’s “Designated Survivor,” are casting the series.
