Like everything else, MCC Theater’s Miscast gala will look a little different this year. But one fact remains: The event, airing Sept. 13 as a 90-minute broadcast, is must-see for those who love (and dearly miss) theater.

At 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, head over to MCC’s YouTube Channel for performances by Adrienne Warren, Ingrid Michaelson, Joshua Henry, Heather Headley, Beanie Feldstein, Phillipa Soo, Leslie Odom Jr., Harvey Fierstein (along with the rest of the original “Hairspray” cast), and more—all performing songs from roles they’d never be cast in, per Miscast tradition.

Additionally, this year’s installment—the show’s 20th!—will include appearances by Judith Light, Julianna Margulies, and others.

Funds raised from the event will benefit MCC Theater in its continued efforts to produce new work Off-Broadway; they will also go towards its Youth Company and partnerships with New York City public high school students, and the Mental Health Coalition. There will also be raffles and auctions (entry and bidding are both open here), as well as opportunities to donate throughout the broadcast.

“We have an amazing opportunity to share this beloved event with the entire world in real time this year,” said Co-Artistic Director Bernie Telsey in a statement. “We’re extremely grateful that these incredible performers and members of our community are just as excited as we are to continue the Miscast tradition even from their homes.”
