Now Casting: Play a Lead in ‘Legally Blonde’ Stage Musical + More

What you want is right in front of you, actors! Today, a California production of the musical “Legally Blonde” is casting all major roles, including the lead of Elle Woods. Plus, AMC’s “Better Call Saul” is currently seeking colorful background for a shoot in March, a production of “Singin’ in the Rain” needs talented tappers for lead roles, and a student film is casting in New York City.

Candlelight Pavilion is currently casting an upcoming production of the “Legally Blonde,” based on the novel and motion picture of the same name. A female actor, aged 18–29, is sought for the lead role of Elle Woods. There are also multiple supporting roles available for talent, aged 18–60, including Emmett, Paulette, and more. There will be an open casting call in Claremont, California, on March 19 and 20. Rehearsals begin May 7 and the show runs June 8–July 14. AMC’s “Breaking Bad” prequel series “Better Call Saul” is currently seeking background for an upcoming shoot. Experienced skateboarders and biker guys with Harley Davidsons, aged 18 and older, are wanted, as well as talent with blue hair, aged 70 or older. Production will take place in Albuquerque, New Mexico from Feb. 28–March 12. All roles correspond to specific shoot dates. Some pay will be provided. Apply here!

Join the cast of “Singin’ in the Rain” in an upcoming production at Long Island’s John W. Engeman Theater. Male and female talent aged, 20–38, with outstanding tap ability are wanted to play the lead roles of Don, Cosmo, and Kathy. Tumbling and acrobatic ability, as well as basic piano skills, are a plus for some roles. Strong singing is required for all. There are also several supporting and ensemble roles for talent, aged 20–38. There will be an audition by appointment on March 21 and an open casting call on March 23 in NYC. Rehearsals will begin April 27 in NYC, and the production runs May 17–July 1 in Northport, New York. Pay is $300 per week for non-Equity and a negotiable $439 per week minimum for Equity. Casting is underway for “The Gum,” a short student film about a Chinese girl who pretends to be Caucasian to chase her dream of being fashion designer in New York City in 1966. An Asian female actor, aged 18–40, is sought to play the lead role of Debbie. There are also several supporting roles available for talent, aged 18–40. There will be an audition by appointment on March 2 in NYC. “The Gum” will shoot between March 29–April 2 in NYC. Pay is $100 per day for the lead role and $50 per day for supporting roles.
