Welcome to Rumorville! Here you can learn about casting news that’s about to break in Hollywood. These speculations might be only rumors, but that doesn’t mean you can’t follow the trail all the way to the audition room.

“Creed III”
Jonathan Majors is ready for his next opponent. The “Lovecraft Country” star is reportedly in talks to join Michael B. Jordan in the upcoming “Creed III,” which will mark Jordan’s feature directorial debut. Negotiations are underway, and according to Deadline, if the deal goes through, Majors will play Creed’s latest adversary in the ring. Tessa Thompson and Phylicia Rashad are set to return for the third installment of the “Rocky” franchise spinoff, which will be written by Zach Baylin and Keenan Coogler. However, franchise heavyweight Sylvester Stallone will reportedly not return. “Creed III” is due out on Nov. 23, 2022. The previous two installments used different casting teams, the most recent Betty Mae, Inc. for “Creed II.”

Gloria Calderón Kellett Amazon Projects
When one door closes, more will open. The development slate for “One Day at a Time” co-creator Gloria Calderón Kellett’s recent overall Amazon deal has been announced, and though the beloved Netflix-turned-Pop sitcom revival will not be returning for new episodes, Kellett has a lot coming down the pipeline. The first entries in the deal include the Shakespeare-themed high-school drama “Verona,” “Glowing Up,” a half-hour adult animation musical series based on the graphic novel “Mismatched,” a modern-day adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Emma,” and “Dating the Lopez Ladies,” a half-hour animated comedy. Also announced was “With Love” as the first series order in her overall deal with the streamer. That series, a one-hour romantic dramedy created and written by Calderón Kellett, is set to launch during the 2021 holiday season. No casting teams have been set up for any of the shows ordered or in development alike, but it doesn’t hurt to keep an eye on Los Angeles’ Telsey + Company/The Telsey Office, who was the casting team for “One Day at a Time.”

“The Lost Apothecary”
First reported by Deadline, Fox has gotten its hands on the bestselling “The Lost Apothecary,” the debut novel of Sarah Penner. The story is reportedly set to be turned into a one-hour drama series at the network, which just closed a deal to develop the series with an open writing assignment. Published in March, the book centers around a secret apothecary shop 200 years in the past that’s fate is jeopardized when the owner Nella’s newest patron, a precocious 12-year-old, makes a fatal mistake that sparks a string of consequences that echo for centuries. Simultaneously, in the present day, an aspiring historian stumbles upon a clue to the unsolved apothecary murders. The project is now seeking its writing and executive producing team, so be sure to keep an eye out for any developments.
