“Disclaimer”

According to Variety, “Squid Game” star Jung Ho-yeon is coming stateside for her next project as she is starring in the upcoming Apple TV+ series “Disclaimer.” The last we reported on the project, Sacha Baron Cohen was in talks to join the cast; that has since been confirmed, and the “Borat” actor will star alongside Cate Blanchett, Kevin Kline, and Kodi Smit-McPhee. Based on the Renee Knight novel of the same name, “Disclaimer” will follow Catherine Ravenscroft (played by Blanchett), “a successful and respected television documentary journalist whose work has been built on revealing the concealed transgressions of long-respected institutions. When an intriguing novel written by a widower (played by Kline) appears on her bedside table, she is horrified to realize she is a key character in a story that she had hoped was long buried in the past, one that reveals her darkest secret.” Jung will play Kim, “ambitious, hardworking, and eager-to-please, [who] knows that working for Catherine Ravenscroft is going to be her big break.” Alfonso Cuarón (“Roma,” “Gravity”) will write, direct, and executive produce the series. This will be his first time writing and directing all episodes of an original series. A timeline, including a release date, for “Disclaimer” still hasn’t been announced.

“The Changeling”

First reported by Deadline, Emmy nominee Adina Porter (“Underground”) and Clark Backo (“Letterkenny”) are coming to Apple TV+ as the stars in the upcoming drama series “The Changeling.” The two join the previously announced LaKeith Stanfield in the series based on the Victor LaValle bestseller of the same name. “The Changeling” is described as “a fairytale for grown-ups…a horror story, a parenthood fable, and a perilous odyssey through a New York City you didn’t know existed.” Annapurna and Apple Studios will produce with Kelly Marcel (“Cruella”) serving as the writer and showrunner. Melina Matsoukas (“Queen & Slim”) will also come on board to direct. Mary Vernieu is the series casting director.
