Get ready to frost yourselves, everyone! “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” is getting a sequel (and that’s no bullshit). Variety reports that Paramount Pictures is developing a sequel to the beloved 2003 film that made stars Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey icons of the rom-com genre. There’s no word yet on whether Andie Anderson and Benjamin Barry will return, but we can’t help but wonder if their love fern’s still kicking 20-plus years later. If all goes according to plan, we’ll find out soon enough!

After Composure magazine’s resident “how-to” girl Andie Anderson (Hudson) suggests the titular premise during a staff pitch session, she sets out to find an unsuspecting man whom she can date (and essentially torture) by committing every relationship faux pas imaginable—a how-to in reverse, as she notes during the brainstorm. But she doesn’t realize the man she targets, Benjamin Barry (McConaughey), has an ulterior motive up his sleeve, too. He’s bet his boss and two female colleagues that he can make any woman fall in love with him in—you guessed it—10 days.
If Ben wins, his boss promises to put him in charge of the advertising company’s diamond account. His rival coworkers, the Judys, get to choose the woman he must woo. Because they already know about Andie’s assignment, they choose her—without telling Ben what she’s up to. Determined to land the account, Ben endures everything Andie throws his way, no matter how extreme her behavior becomes. Just as the two seemingly spark a serious connection, the truth threatens to tear them apart.
Stacey Sher (“Pulp Fiction,” “Erin Brockovich”) and Hudson are set to produce the “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” sequel, according to Variety. Beyond that, the team is still taking shape, with Paramount seeking a screenwriter first and foremost. Once the sequel has a script and premise, we’ll likely learn more about who’s joining the project and when filming will begin.
While no cast members are attached to the sequel yet, the powers that be hope McConaughey and Hudson will return as the iconic Ben and Andie. But without a premise pinned down, it’s hard to predict if any other cast members will be asked back. Here’s who could make an appearance in the sequel:
