Netflix’s breakout coming-of-age drama “My Life With the Walter Boys” returns on Aug. 28 with Season 2—and a third season is already in production. Based on Ali Novak’s bestselling Wattpad novel, the show became an unexpected hit when it premiered in December 2023, reaching the streamer’s top 10 in 88 countries.

What is “My Life With the Walter Boys” about?

After losing her family in a tragic accident, straight-A student Jackie Howard  (Nikki Rodriguez, “On My Block”) moves from Manhattan to rural Colorado to live with her mother’s best friend, Katherine (Sarah Rafferty, “Suits”), and her kids. Throughout Season 1, Jackie navigates grief, growing up, and a complicated love triangle with brothers Alex (Ashby Gentry, “Are You Afraid of the Dark?”) and Cole (Noah LaLonde, “Deer Camp ’86”). 

Season 2 picks up with Jackie back on the ranch after her dramatic detour to New York.

Melanie Halsall (“Itch”) is the series showrunner, with Ed Glauser (“The Kissing Booth”) executive producing. Jason Priestley, who directed the last two episodes of Season 1, is also returning for Season 2. He directs multiple episodes in the upcoming season and is a producer.

Who is the casting director for “My Life With the Walter Boys”?

Ramani Leah (“Criminal Minds”), Jackie Lind (“Signed, Sealed, Delivered: To the Moon and Back”), and Becky Silverman (“Good Trouble”) serve as casting directors for Season 2.
