Lena Dunham makes her much-anticipated return to TV with “Too Much,” a 10-episode Netflix series starring Megan Stalter and Will Sharpe as two unlikely souls who forge a surprising connection. Dunham is best known for her HBO hit “Girls,” which she created and starred in, running from 2012–2017 and earning her several Emmy nominations. The actor-writer opened up about the new series, telling Tudum, “This is a show that is very close to my heart — created with my husband Luis, cast with my favorite actors — the geniuses that are Meg and Will, along with a bevy of friends — and partnering again with Working Title, who are behind the romantic comedies that formed me.” She added, “Netflix has been so deeply supportive of the vision, which is to create a romantic comedy that makes us root for love, brings joy but also has the jagged edges of life.”

The romantic comedy premieres on July 10. Interested in learning more about “Too Much” and its debut season? Here’s what we know, including the primary CD, cast members, and possible casting opportunities.

“Too Much” follows Jessica (Stalter), a workaholic New Yorker blindsided when the relationship she thought would lead to marriage abruptly ends. Determined to start over, she takes a new job and relocates to England, planning to live a quiet, solitary life.

There, she meets Felix (Sharpe), who, according to Netflix’s Tudum, is “less Hugh Grant in ‘Notting Hill’ and more Hugh Grant’s drunken roommate.” Despite their chemistry, the pair’s connection only complicates things further.
