Untitled HBO Los Angeles Lakers Project
It’s showtime in L.A. as the upcoming HBO Lakers series is putting up nothin’ but net in the city. According to On Location Vacations, filming is taking place the week of June 29 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Downtown L.A. Coming from creator Adam McKay and written by Max Borenstein, the series based on the book “Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley, and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s” will reportedly chronicle how the Los Angeles Lakers became the most successful professional basketball team in the 1980s. The all-star cast includes Jason Clarke, John C. Reilly, Quincy Isaiah, Solomon Hughes, DeVaughn Nixon, Molly Gordon, Rob Morgan, Spencer Garrett, Kirk Bovill, Delante Desouza, Adrien Brody, Sally Field, Bo Burnham, Michael Chiklis, Jason Segel, Sarah Ramos, and more. Filming is scheduled to conclude in late October. Francine Maisler is the casting director.
